New Opportunity: Junior Accountant

 

 

Status: Permanent, Full-Time

Compensation:  $75,000

 Location: Downtown Ottawa, Hybrid work schedule

 

Your Mission

The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) is seeking a Junior Accountant to support our finance function. You'll perform essential accounting functions that help enable our organization meet client needs and support financial accuracy and timeliness. You'll prepare and process financial transactions, handle billing operations, and support month-end activities with precision and accuracy. Working collaboratively across departments, you'll manage invoice processing, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with established procedures. This role offers opportunities for professional growth while contributing to critical financial operations that supports CADSI’s mission. 

Requirements:

The Junior Accountant will have;

  • 1 to 3 (or more) years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or Secondary diploma in accounting, finance or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures
  • Detail-oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Asset: Experience with financial management systems and ERP software, especially Oracle Netsuite and SAP Concur

Example Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Tracking and collecting Accounts Receivables
  • Managing SAP Concur expense module
  • Completing Bank Reconciliations and supporting month-close activities
  • Support in preparing for financial audit and responding to audit questions
  • Customer Relationship Management, such as responding to member questions, as well as resolving vendor and staff inquiries
